Supporting innovative growth companies in the crucial early stages

STING Capital is one of the few venture capital funds in Sweden that invests at the earliest stages of development - even before there is a finished product or paying customers. We are a commercial VC fund that takes big risk and expect high returns. STING Capital works in close cooperation with other venture capital funds and from 2008 is able draw on an increased capital reserve totaling SEK 85 million. We are often the first external investor to offer business ideas or concepts financial support, and can invest up to SEK 4 million per business. By 2012 STING Capital aims to invest in some 10 high-tech companies a year.

Why was the fund established?
STING Capital was established in 2005 by Innovationsbron Stockholm and STING Stockholm Innovation and Growth, with the aim of meeting the growing need for financial support for companies in the initial phases of development. STING is one of the world's leading backers of high-tech start-ups which promise global potential. STING also acts as the fund's management company; suggesting projects for investment and overseeing the administration and development of the fund's portfolio.

The fund invests primarily in companies admitted to the incubator and STING alumni companies. The Fund's management has high standards for its own business and working to create the industry's best return on investments in early stages.

Close relationship with other investors
STING Capital's fund managers seek to foster a close working relationship with our unique network of experts, STING Business Angels, and venture capital companies, which focus on later stages of business development. Business Angels and venture capital funding also make up a growing share of STING's flow of potential investment projects, or "deal-flow". STING Capital's ultimate goal is to establish itself as the venture capital market's leading "feeder" of investment projects. The fund is also supported by a number of large institutional investors.
