Investment criteria

STING Capital is one of the few venture capital funds in Sweden that invests in companies at the earliest stages of development. We are able to provide funding for your first prototype or demonstration, and help you reach your first paying customers. We can also invest further down the track &en-dash ; when our support is more dependent upon whether your business idea falls within our criteria than on whether your business has reached a given stage in its development.

STING Capital invests in companies admitted to the incubator and STING alumni companies.

Our investment criteria

The STING Capital and STING teams have years experience of supporting and investing in high-tech start-up companies &en-dash ; everything from stock market floatations to sales and mergers; often the result of a business enjoying rapid growth. To qualify for our support, your business, product idea or research should ideally, although not necessarily, meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Technically-based concept with potential/existing intellectual property rights that meets a proven need. STING Capital invests in all areas, except biotechnology.
• High risk and high potential return on investment &en-dash ; normally before the product is fully developed and ready for sale.
• Substantial international market potential.
• Pragmatic innovator and/or entrepreneur who genuinely has the necessary drive to build an international hi-tech company. An individual who is keen to understand the demands and needs of the market place.
• Based in or close to the greater Stockholm region &en-dash ; we like to visit businesses on a regular basis.
